Since I finished 3 books in the last few weeks (basically the only redeeming quality about long flights), I decided to compile a short summary for each. So, here is my brief review on each.
Book 12: I Was Told There'd Be Cake by Sloane Crosley
Most hilarious book I've ever read. Read this book of witty, frank essays. I probably will again.
Book 13: On Beauty by Zadie Smith
A novel exploring how a community relates to each other: student to professor, professor to university, parent to child, husband to wife, liberal to conservative, private self to public self, across and amidst classes and races. Smith's narrative is beautiful while her characters are at times repulsive and their lives are painful.
Book 14: Candide by Voltaire
A short, classic volume. A real zinger on the naivite of optimism, and the ugliness of 18th century European Bourgeois.

I miss book club with you!! What are you reading now? Maybe we can read the same thing and then discuss on a phone date :)
Also, when are you going to post about you-know-what??!?!?!
Yes! I've been waiting for this post for so long...haha :-) No but really, I do want to read some of these books, they sounded good!
